Hamza Abubakar, a final-year student of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS), displayed a remarkable performance as he secured the prestigious gold medal in the U18 category at the highly anticipated 2024 edition of Ghana’s Fastest Human Athletics Championship. With an impressive 10.82 seconds, Hamza outpaced his competitors, including Isaac Beniako (who completed OKESS last year), who secured the second position with 11.13 seconds. The exhilarating event unfolded at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on 29th June, attracting a multitude of over a hundred of Ghana’s fastest athletes across the country. Hamza’s remarkable achievement follows in the illustrious footsteps of past winners, including Benedicta Kwartemaa, who triumphed in the female U18 category three years ago, and Isaac Sarfo, who also claimed victory in the U18 boys category last year.
