Bray house is a house of humility and in terms of neatness rated high in Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School in Kumasi. As the Akan saying goes ‘Saman pa na yԑto no badin’, the house was named after George Bray, the first Ghanaian headmaster of the school, 1963 – 1976, for his hard work. No wonder members of the house are so dedicated to the betterment of mother OKESS.
Bray house can never be forgotten in terms of academics as recorded the 2013 WASSCE results. 85% of Bray house students passed in all subjects which is due to the fact that the Saints are very committed to their studies.
The house has produced God – fearing leaders to the school. These leaders include the dining hall, sports, library and many other prefects. The house has also been able to produce a student who won the Ashanti Regional students Malaria campaign who is now the ambassador for malaria in the region and in the person of Naomi Boakye Yiadom.
Again, the house has helped to reduce the number of students who go out of the school without exeat. The house has been able to purchase a football, drafts, ludo and other recreational equipment which help to bring peace and unity among the Saints.
Sometimes, it is not all targets that are achieved by people who set them and we as leaders are not exception. When we came to office as house prefect the task appear to be a mountain in front of us. Some students were using mobile phones, which is a prohibited by the administration. This has caused some illegal connection to be done in the house. Our aim was to eradicate it completely. However, this aim, to a very large extent, has not been achieved. We pray that our successors will work hard to do away with this unacceptable behavior in the school.
The house says a Very Big thanks to our house master and mistress for their contribution, motivations and concern for the activities of the house.
We are most grateful to God for bring us to this far.
Long live the Saints!
Long live Ahenemma!
Long live OKESS!
